Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 27, at 10:00 a.m. at Hillside Baptist Church, Dickinson. Visitation will be at Stevenson Funeral Home from 3:00-9:00 p.m. on Monday September 26.
Harvey was born March 1, 1924 to Richard and Signe (Johnson) Burwick. He graduated from New England High School where he met (Mary) Alice Larson. They were married December 20, 1944 and after residing in Dickinson and Lisbon they established their farm in 1948, near the Daglum community, SW of Dickinson. They lived there until 1977, when they moved into Dickinson. Two sons were born to Harvey & Alice, and later they adopted a daughter. This marriage of 45 years was broken by Alice’s death in 1990. Harvey loved farming and was known for being progressive and wise in conservation practices. He owned Burwick’s Power Equipment, 1978 -1984. He served on school boards, political committees, and the Board of Directors for Williston Boy’s Home. As a youth, he was confirmed at Daglum Lutheran Church. After marriage, he was active on the church board at New England Assemblies of God and later at Hillside Baptist Church in Dickinson. He found great joy in being generous. He supported missions world-wide, and after retirement, Harvey was very involved with the House of Manna in Dickinson. Four years after Alice’s death, Harvey married Marvel (Johnson) Will on August 7, 1994. They resided in Bismarck, where they were active at Evangel Temple A/G. Harvey enjoyed participating in the lives of Marvel’s six children and their families. After Marvel’s death in 2005, he moved near his children in Missouri and Kansas.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Fern; two brothers, Sidney and Milo; and a grandson, John.
Harvey is survived by two sons and a daughter (Douglas & Linda of Ozark MO, Richard & Monica of Lawrence KS, and Kim Burwick of Springfield MO), 6 step-children (Vernon, Phyllis, Roger, Ruth, Faye, Lori) and their families, 5 grand-children (Bryan, Regina, Trevor, Michael, and Jeffrey), and 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Interment will be at the Dickinson Cemetery.
