Funeral Mass for Helen Hauck, 96, of Richardton, will be 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richardton with Father Thomas Wordekemper, OSB. Burial will follow at St. Mary cemetery. For those attending, please adhere to the social distancing guidelines as suggested by the Health Department.
Visitation for Helen will be 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Rosary and Vigil service at 6:00 p.m.

Helen passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson, ND.
Helen Ernestine Steckler was born June 14, 1924 in Richardton, ND, the daughter of Mathew and Florentina (Kuntz) Steckler. She was the 2nd of 12 children. She grew up and attended school in Richardton. At the age of 18 & 19 she worked in a fruit cannery in California, staying with her grandparents.
Helen married Paul J. Hauck on June 26, 1945 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richardton. To this union 5 boys were born, Ronald & Donald (twins), John Paul, Lawrence, and Jeffrey. Helen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved raising her family on the farm south of Richardton. She loved cooking and baking and was a wonderful cook. Helen found enjoyment in quilting and needle crafts. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Christian Mothers. Helen was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Helen is survived by her sons, Ronald (Frances), Donald (Barbara), Lawrence (Thongsee) and Jeffrey (Mary); 16 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, William (Eleanor) Steckler, Martin (Irene) Steckler, Jeannette (Val) Friedt, Patricia (Gordon)Vaagen, Ronald (Donna)Steckler, Joyce (Neal) Johnson, and Virginia (Charles) Pugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; son, John Paul; grand-daughter, Lisa Weed; brothers, Julius (Evangeline) Steckler, Leonard (Betty) Steckler; sisters, Marie Steckler, Adeline (Ben) Schubert, Frieda (Joe) Klein; and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery Fund in Richardton, ND.
