Funeral Mass for Helen R. Meduna, 73, of Dickinson, is at 1 p. m. , Thursday, May 3, 2007, at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Roger Synek and Father concelebrating. Burial will be in St. Patrick?s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be 8 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at Stevenson Funeral Home, with a rosary and vigil service at 7 p. m. Helen passed away Saturday, April 28, 2007 at her home in Dickinson. Helen Kubishta was born on January 11, 1934, in Stark County, ND the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Dassinger) Kubishta. She grew up and attended the Shipley Country School south of Dickinson. Helen later graduated from Dickinson Central High School. She worked for Benson Optical for several years. Helen married Albert Meduna on July 1, 1953 in Dickinson. During this time Helen worked for S & L Department Store for several years. Together Helen and Albert made their home in Plaza, ND where they began farming and raising their family. In 1989, Helen and Albert began spending winters in Dickinson. Helen was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, and a Charter member of the 59?ers Homemaking Club, all of Plaza. She also was a member of the PTO and American Legion Auxiliary, both of Plaza. Helen enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, and cooking. She especially enjoyed entertaining and having her children and grandchildren around as well as spending time with Hunter at the farm. Helen enjoyed playing cards, Scrable and Christmas Bingo. She was a faithful fan and follower of her grandchildren?s activities. In her early years, she and Albert were very fond of traveling. Helen also enjoyed getting together with the Leap Year Homemakers and a birthday club in Dickinson. She is survived by: three sons, Randall (Debbie) Meduna, Plaza, ND, Daniel (Renee) Meduna, and Tracy (Gina) Meduna, both of Stanley, ND; two daughters, Laureen (John) O?Neill, Williston, ND, and Marcie (Chris) Meduna, Minot; brother, Ed (Karon) Kubishta, Mandan; sisters, Rose Raab, Dickinson, and Esther Davis, Seattle, WA; brother in law, Jerry (Frances) Meduna, Manning; sisters in law, Bertha Kubishta and Martha Meduna, both of Dickinson; 14 grandchildren: Casey, Cody and Sarah, Jessy, Billy and Jeremy, Jeffery, Ashley and Jacob, Hailey, Logan, Arden, Lukas and Vincent; three great- grandchildren: Chance, Paige and Jaxson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; brother, Alfred Kubishta; brother-in-law, Pete Raab, and a sister-in-law, Henrietta ?Hank? Kubishta.
