Funeral Mass for Helen Mullen, 84, of Dickinson, ND will be 10 a. m. , Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, ND with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will be in the Terrace Heights Memorial Park Cemetery in Yakima, WA at a later date. Visitation will be from 12 p. m. to 9 p. m. , Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND with a rosary and vigil service at 7 p. m. Helen passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009 at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson, ND. Helen H. Kuntz was born August 24, 1925 on the family farm southwest of Regent, ND, the daughter of Martin and Wilhelmina (Greff) Kuntz. Helen?s parents moved to Dickinson where Helen worked at the Villard Hotel and City Caf?. , S & L Store and Buttreys Clothing Store for 11 years. Helen moved to Yakima, WA to spend time with her brother and his family. Helen loved Yakima and remained there where she met and married her husband, Bill Mullen. Bill owned and operated a jewelry store. Later on Bill and Helen opened up another jewelry store and two Hallmark Stores in Yakima and Toppenish, WA. Helen?s husband passed away in September 1996 and Helen remained in Yakima for the next six years, at which time she decided to move back to North Dakota to be with her family. Helen enjoyed collecting recipes and baking for her family and friends during the holidays. She loved all animals and especially their little dog, Suzette. She enjoyed listening to music and always enjoyed a good story. She belonged to the American Veterans Auxiliary of Yakima and was also a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Helen is survived by her sisters; Mary Eva Wanner, Ann Heidt, Cecilia Jorgensen, all of Dickinson and Tillie (Leo) Stein, Gladstone, ND; two step sons, Michael Mullen and family of San Diego, CA , B. J. Mullen of Yakima, WA; many nieces and nephews and two best friends, Karen and Eleanor. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; sisters, Margaret Kuntz, Elizabeth Jordan and Minnie Koffler; her parents, Martin and Wilhelmina Greff Kuntz; brothers, Martin, Vincent, Henry, Pete and Anthony Kuntz.
