Helen Odermann

Funeral Mass for Helen Odermann, 94, of Dickinson, ND will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton, ND. Father Valerian Odermann, OSB will be celebrating. Burial will be in the Abbey Cemetery in Richardton. Visitation will be from 3:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. on Monday, July 25, 2016, at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service at 4:00 p. m. Helen (Duletski) Odermann, 94, of Dickinson, ND passed away July 22, 2016, at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson, ND. Helen Duletski was born April 27, 1922, to John and Mary (Krasowski) Duletski in Glen Ullin, ND. Helen graduated from high school in Belfield and then went on to attend Dickinson State Teachers’ College. She received her teaching certification and shortly thereafter went to work for the Bureau of Indian Affairs stationed at Elbowoods, ND. On July 16, 1945 Helen and Harold Odermann were married in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Belfield, ND. Harold and Helen moved to the Belfield community in March of 1946. They farmed and ranched in the Belfield and Medora areas until they moved to Park Villa in Dickinson in 2003. Helen was a teacher in Billings County for 26 years until her retirement. Helen is survived by her children, Father Valerian Odermann, OSB, Assumption Abbey, Richardton, ND, Mary (Don) Kehrwald, Winfield, KS, James (Leona) Odermann, Belfield, ND, Peter Odermann, Medora, ND, Marty (Larry) Odermann-Gardner, Commerce City, CO, Midge (Charles) Mougey, Commerce City, CO, and Marni Odermann, Boise, ID; 27 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold, parents; sisters, Lena Hoff, Frances Michaluk, Louise Dietz, Mary Luiykx, Eva Kessel, Josephine Kordonowy, Emelia Kreitinger, an infant sister Stella, a brother, Casmir Duletski, and a grandson, Michael Odermann. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Helen’s name can be made to Dickinson Catholic Schools, Assumption Abbey or St. Luke’s Home.
