Helen Olson

A Private graveside service for Helen Olson, 93, Sauk Rapids, MN, formerly of Dickinson, will take place at the Vang Lutheran Cemetery, rural Dunn County, ND.


Helen passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Country Manor Care Center, Sartell, MN.


Helen was born July 16, 1920 in Dunn County (Werner), ND, the daughter of Haakon and Pernille (Anderson) Olson. She grew up on the family farm and attended Eagle Nest Country School, graduating from high school, which at that time was located at Dickinson State College. In the late 1940’s, Helen moved to Alameda, CA, where she worked as a secretary for Safeway Food for 35 years. In 2007, Helen moved to Evergreen in Dickinson. She moved to Ridgeview Place, Sauk Rapids, MN, in 2012.


Helen is survived by nephews, Dale (Pat) Monson of St. Cloud, MN, and Donald (Mary) Samuelson of Eau Claire, WI; nieces, LaVonne (Lou) Coover of San Diego, CA, and Betty Kragness of Bethlehem, PA; and numerous great nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Roy, Olaf, and Harold Olson; three sisters, Margaret Samuelson, Signe Olson and Alyce Monson; one nephew, Wayne Samuelson; and one niece, Loretta Ross. .
