Funeral Services for Helen Patricia Olson, 89, of Baker, MT will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at American Lutheran Church in Baker, MT with Pastors Bruce & Reba Kolasch officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, March 3rd. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Helen passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. Helen Patricia Olson was born a daughter of Glen Carroll and Bessie Lydia (Davis) Stark in a farmhouse southeast of Ollie, MT on July 13, 1918. Helen grew up in Baker, MT where she attended schools. While attending a dance at the Fertile Prairie School, Helen met the love of her life, Gordon C. Olson of Marmarth, ND. After a courtship, Helen and Gordon were married on June 25, 1939 in Marmarth. To this union Richard K., Thomas M. and Judith A. were born. After their marriage, Helen and Gordon purchased his father?s grocery store in Marmarth, and operated it until 1952, when the Olsons moved to Baker, MT. In Baker, Helen and Gordon built and operated the Frost Bowl Restaurant. Later they operated Ole?s Coffee Shop until their retirement in 1978, after many years of hard work. Helen was a devoted and faithful member of the American Lutheran Church in Baker. Helen volunteered as a Pinkie at Fallon Medical Complex and was a member of the Baker Senior Citizens Center, where she enjoyed participating in their activities. Helen enjoyed cooking, sewing clothes and quilting. Many of her projects included making clothes for her grandchildren and making quilts for her family. Helen was quilting until just two weeks ago. Helen?s greatest love and enjoyment in life was for family and friends. Helen is survived by her two son?s, Richard (Carol) Olson, Missoula, MT and Thomas (Connie) Olson, Helena, MT; two brothers, Glen (Imogene) Stark, Truth or Consequences, NM and Donald (Marlene) Stark, Salt Lake City, UT; three sisters, Grace (Ed) Domagala, St. George, UT, Cleo Kirkpatrick, Salt Lake City, UT and Euphie (Don) Baker, Casper, WY; four grandchildren, Keith (Melissa) Olson, Angela (Mike) Wubben, Shelley (Charles) Kaseman and Kerry Olson and four great-grandchildren, Joe, Conrad, Grace and Emmerson. Her parents, Glen and Bessie, her husband, Gordon, her daughter, Judith, two brothers, Fred Stark and Ed Stark and sister Lorene Wiseman preceded her in death. The family requests memorials be made to the American Lutheran Church in Baker. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker, MT.
