Funeral Service for Helen Pattishall, 93, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Friday, October 27, 2006 at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson, ND with Pastor Rusty Phalen officiating. Burial will follow at Bonnievale Cemetery in Baker, MT. Visitation will be from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Thursday, October 26, 2006 with a prayer service taking place at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Helen passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson, ND. Helen D. Pattishall was born March 14, 1913 in Lowell, AR to Ned and Rose(Loyd) Downum. She grew up on the family farm and attended local country schools. On August 22, 1930 Helen married her childhood sweetheart, Elmo ?Pat? James Pattishall, in Cave springs, AR. The couple made their home in Arkansas and later Kansas, before Pat enlisted into the Army at the start of WWII. During this time Helen worked with her sister at an Ammunitions Plant in Kansas City, MO. When Pat returned from the war, he and Helen moved to Kansas where he was reinstated as a supervisor for Conoco Oil. Over the next several years this job moved the couple to many different states in the region, which included: Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota. During this time Pat and Helen were Blessed with two children, Ron and Connie. After Pat passed away in 1969, Helen made her home near each of her children spending time in Loveland, CO; Mt. Vernon, IL; Baker, MT; and the last 16 years in Dickinson, ND. Helen loved spending time with her family and keeping track of her grandchildren. She was very fond of her many pets, cats and dogs, that she had throughout the years. Helen always welcomed company into her home for a cup of coffee and conversation. Her neighbors were very dear to her, especially: Chris, Perry, Shelly and Becky. She also found enjoyment in gardening, quilting, oil paintings, reading, and playing bridge. Helen loved camping, and some of her favorite trips were spent in the Grand Teton Mountains and Lyons, CO. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by: one daughter, Connie (Gerald) Spriggs, Baker, Montana; one son: Ron Pattishall, Highlands Ranch, CO; two sisters: Elaine Farish, Springdale, AR, and LaVerne Creekmore, Blue Springs, MO; five grandchildren: Shannon, Kris, Ryan, Brooke, and Tyler; two sisters-in-law: Jackie Downum, Clinton, CO, and Wanda Downum, Independence, MO. three sisters-in-law, Jackie Downum, Jackie Downum, Clinton, CO; Wanda Downum, Independence, MO; Virginia Hamilton, Healing Springs, AR;She is preceded by: her parents; her husband, Pat; two brothers: Joe Downum, and Barton Downum; and one sister, Thelma Downum.
