Funeral Services for Henry Benz, 66 of Killdeer are 10:00 a. m. Monday, September 20, 2004 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Killdeer with Pastor Aanen Gjovik officiating. Interment will follow in the Killdeer Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday, September 19, 2004 from 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Killdeer. Visitation will continue on Monday one hour prior to service at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Killdeer. Henry passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2004 in his home in Killdeer. Henry was born February 24, 1938 in Dunn Center, the youngest of twelve children of Frank and Barbara Unterseher Benz. Henry attended country school in Dunn County and graduated from Dunn Center High School in 1957. He farmed with his brother, Ernest until 1958 when he moved to California with his sister, Elsie where he lived for a short time. He later returned to Dunn Center and worked for the lumber yard until 1960 when he began farming again. He married Betty Gilge on November 27, 1963 and they had two sons, Dean and Todd. He then began working at local area elevators. Henry was married to Sandra Tysver on March 3, 1973 and to this union Tracy and Michael were born. Henry retired from the Killdeer elevator in 2000 and continued to make Killdeer his home. Henry enjoyed camping, gardening, and spending time with his family, especially his grandson. He enjoyed collecting Die Cast Cars, as well as John Deer Tractors and caps. Survivors include his wife: Sandra Benz, Killdeer, ND; one son: Michael Benz, Dickinson, ND; one daughter: Tracy (Justin) Lauf, Coeurd? Alene, ID; one grandson: Everett Lauf, Coeurd? Alene, ID; five brothers: Harold (Rosa) Benz, Killdeer, ND, Frank (Joyce) Benz, Loveland, CO, Rueben Benz, Dunn Center, ND, Bernie (Peggy), Killdeer, ND, Ernest (Maureen), Dunn Center; three sisters: Irene Wilhelm, Circle, MT, Elsie Foster, Lancaster, CA, Darlene Weisz, Ankeny, IA; three sister-in-law: Louise Benz, Bismarck, ND, Ruby Benz, Dunn Center, Leah Benz, Bismarck, ND. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Walter, Alvin, Leo; one brother-in-law: Hilmer Weisz; one sister-in-law: Janet Benz.
