Funeral services for Henry Klatt, 88, of Killdeer, ND will be 2 p. m. , Saturday, November 15, 2008 at St John?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Killdeer, ND with Rev. Joel Sauerwin officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Dunn Center, ND. Henry died peacefully Friday, November 14, 2008 at St. Joseph?s Hospital, Dickinson, ND. Henry was born September 12, 1920, the son of Gottlieb and Katherine (Ottoman) Klatt on the family?s homestead northwest of Dunn Center, ND. He grew up and attended Connolly School in Dunn County. On October 14, 1940 Henry and Hilda Lorenz were united in marriage. Together they farmed and ranched the family homestead where they raised their family. In the late 1990?s, they retired to their home in Killdeer. Henry enjoyed woodworking, gardening and being with his family. He was a lifetime member of St. John?s Evangelical Lutheran Church and served as caretaker of Peace Lutheran Cemetery for many years. He is survived by wife, Hilda, Killdeer, ND; son, Gary (Mary) Klatt, Dunn Center, ND; daughters, Peggy Klatt, Colorado Springs, CO, Frances (George) Gordon, Laurel, MT, Evelyn (Jack) Buttman, Billings, MT, Ella Nesheim, Dickinson, ND and Kathryn (Joe) Schmalz, Billings, MT; 14 grandchildren,; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Henry was preceded in death by both parents; grandson, Dean Zeller; brothers, Gottlieb, John and Jacob; sisters, Bertha Strobel, Hilda Goetz, Emelia Hettich and Olga Hoff.
