Herman Fred Wolf, 85, passed away peacefully at Elm Crest Manor on November 27, 2019 with his loving family by his side. He was diagnosed with Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer in January.

Herman Fred Wolf, the son of Fred Wolf and Antonia (Hoger) Wolf was born October 15, 1934 at the family farm near Sweet Briar, ND.

Herman attended Sweet Briar School and spent his entire life on the dairy, beef, and grain farm.

On Herman’s twenty-first birthday he married the love of his life, Rose Marie (Klein) Wolf.

He enjoyed a good life focused on operating the family farm. Plus sharing good times with family and friends by traveling, playing cards, and visiting. In his quiet times he enjoyed reading western novels, playing on his iPad, and after retirement helping with farm chores until October 2019 (He always said he was now the helper, not the boss!).

Herman served on the Peace Church Council Board, Elm Crest Manor Board, Sweet Briar School Board, Morton County Reorganization Board, Mandan Eagles Board, and served several other organizations. He was a member of the New Salem Sportsman’s Club, Mandan Eagles, Moose Club and the Bismarck/Mandan Elks.

He will be greatly missed by his wife and family; Rose Marie, children, Susan (Jeff) Schwan, Devils Lake; Joel (Penny), Mandan; Sheldon (Cheryl), Mandan and Laura (Bryon) Brynjulson, Hurdsfield.

Great Grandchildren are Javeyn and Remy Schwan; Hannah and Joseph Nelson; Jayden and Kylie Wolf; Madalyn, Rebekka, Fallyn, and Ty Bohl; Kimber Wolf and two Great-Grandbabies due in 2020.
