Hilda Peltz went to her eternal home of rest, while a resident at Marian Manor Healthcare Center in Glen Ullin, on December 28, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Hilda was born on October 11, 1922 at Bluegrass, ND to John and Katie (Nagel) Winckler. She attended rural school through the eighth grade. At age 14, she moved to Tuttle to work for her Aunt and Uncle for the summer. When she was 15, she moved to Bismarck and started working at the Bismarck Hospital where she worked for nearly five years. Hilda then decided to move to Portland, Oregon where she worked for four years before returning to North Dakota to marry the love of her life, Paul C. Peltz on September 7, 1947. Together they farmed side by side until 1974 when they retired and moved into Glen Ullin. After 40 years of marriage, Paul passed away on October 30, 1987. Hilda was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church from its beginning. More than life itself, she loved her Lord and Saviour-Jesus Christ. Regardless of where Hilda went, no one was a stranger. She enjoyed many things in life, traveling, quilting, crocheting, gardening and especially entertaining guests and time spent with her family and friends.
Hilda is survived by her children, Ron (Diane) Peltz of Bismarck, Lyle (Linda) Peltz and Mary Lou Peltz all of Glen Ullin. She was blessed with six grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren: Bruce (Angie) Peltz, Morgan and Hailey; Latrisha (Chris) Seil, Audrey and Caleb; Alan (Melanie) Peltz, Kambryn, Zayden, Tayah and Braelyn; Andrew (Heidi) Peltz, Kenedi and Malachi; Michael (Michelle) Peltz, Molly, Maxwell, Makeda, Mikias and McKenna; Daniel (Shana) Peltz, Daya, Eli, Isaak, Asher and Ezra; adopted granddaughter, Kay (Anton) Kruger, John, Noah, Andrew and Luke. Hilda was known as the ‘Universal Grandma’ and was called that by many over the years. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Gertrude Unruh of Victor, MT, Doris Voegele of University Place, WA, Albert Winckler of New Salem, Garmon Winckler of Mandan, and sister-in-law, Ruth Winckler of New Salem.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Paul; sisters, Erna Unruh and Edna Wetzel; brothers, Edwin, Reuben and Aaron Winckler; three nephews, one niece, and a great-nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to ND Adult and Teen Challenge, or Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND.
