Hildagarde Scheeler

A Liturgy of the Word service for Hildagarde Scheeler, 86, of Dickinson, will be 2:00 p. m. , Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.


Visitation for Hildagarde will be 1:00 p. m. – 2:00 p. m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.


Hildagarde passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at St. Benedicts Health Center in Dickinson, ND.


Hildagarde Mathilda Scheeler was born July 19, 1927, in Dickinson, the daughter of John and Ludmilla (Braxmeier) Scheeler. She was a lifetime resident of Dickinson. Hildagarde attended school at St. Joseph’s Grade School through the eighth grade. She later worked for Dick Baar at the German Hungarian Club, where she was also a member. She was a woman of service and it was important to her that she be known as a “good hearted woman. ” Hildagarde enjoyed doing crafts with lace.


Hildagarde is survived by her brother, Leonard (Virginia) Scheeler and her good friend, Norman Dukart (and pet Jakie), both of Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews who truly loved her much. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lillian Heaton, Irene Doris Scheeler, Florence Facey and Marie Kelly; brothers, Fred, Ed and infant brother Frank.
