Funeral Services for Hilding Arnell, 69, of Baker, Montana will be 11 a. m. , Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Baker with Pastor Levi Durfy officiating. Military Rites will be by the American Legion Post #35 of Baker. Burial will be in the St. Paul?s Cemetery north of Rhame, ND. Hilding passed away on July 20, 2007 due to injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident in Baker. Hilding Herman Arnell was born November 2, 1937 the son of Walter & Ethel (Kron) Arnell at Deep Creek Township, north of Rhame, ND. He was raised on the family farm north of Rhame. Hilding attended Crawford Rural School and high school at Rhame, ND. He enlisted in the US Army and was a Paratrooper in the 82nd airborne division from 1956 ? 1958 and was stationed in Germany. Hilding married Ella Irene Erickson of Rhame, ND on August 20, 1959 at the Mound Church north of Rhame. After working on various ranches around the Rhame area, they moved to Baker, MT. In August of 1966, Arnie (as his friends called him) worked as a roustabout in the oilfield until purchasing the Amoco station which he operated for three years. He worked for the Nalco Chemical Company and then in 1985 worked for the Fallon County Road Dept. until his retirement in 2000. Hilding enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and snowmobiling. He was proud of his grandchildren, enjoyed attending their activities and loved spending time with them. Hilding was very active, dedicated and faithful to his church and always had a hug or friendly handshake for all as no one was a stranger to him. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baker. Survivors include, his wife, Ella; a son, Curt (Tammy) Arnell, Baker; four daughters, LaNae (Kenny) Bretzel, Plevna, Connie (Dean) Alberts, Plevna, Rhonda (LaMonte) Hodges, Colorado Springs, CO and Vicki (Jim) Buti, Belgrade, MT; a brother, Wendall Arnell, Costa Rica; a sister, Elsie (Ray) Malkowski, Dickinson, ND; grandchildren, Jenna and Brayden Bretzel, Shasta Alberts, Mandi (Toby) Arnold, Danny (Brett Torgerson) Alberts, Kyle (Tisha Parisien) Alberts, Derek, Dalton & Dallas Arnell, Kevin (Kecia) Hodges, Krista Hodges, Malachai Buti; and a great-grandchild, Noah Arnold; He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Warren.
