Ian Kubik

A Celebration of Life for Ian H. Kubik, 28, of Richardson, TX, formerly of Dickinson, ND, will be 11:00 a. m. , Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with Mary Massad officiating. Visitation for Ian will be 4:00 p. m. -7:00 p. m. , Friday, November 11th at the funeral home. His ashes will be buried at a later date. Ian passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at his home in TX. Ian Hunter was born March 17, 1988 in Dickinson, the son of Joseph H. Kubik and Kristen J. Bergerud. Growing up he attended school in Dickinson and graduated with the class of 2006. Ian continued his education at UNL (University of Nebraska Lincoln) where he graduated in 2010. Currently he was finishing his pre-med requisites at UTD (University Texas Dallas). He worked various jobs while attending college. Throughout his high school and college years, he received high honors and also achieved his Eagle Scout award. He loved theater and music, and played the baritone and sang in choirs and musicals throughout high school and college. His Eagle Scout project was a video, “Emergency Preparedness” for elementary classrooms. Ian was a very special young man who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Ian is survived by his mother, Kristen J. Bergerud of Dickinson; brother, Joseph H. Kubik of St. Paul, MN; sisters, Tanya (Colin) Strathman of St. Paul, MN and Lauren (David) Stockert of White Bear Lake, MN; grandmothers, Judith C. Whitehead of Kent, WA and Belle L. Bergerud of Mesa, AZ; uncles, Kimball (Betsy) Bergerud of Seattle, WA, Beau (Lori) Whitehead of Bellingham, WA, Leif Bergerud of New York, NY, David (Sue) Kubik of Florissant, MO; aunts, Delores (Wayne) Huss of Northglenn, CO, Leslie Albers of St. Paul, MN, and Janet Bleth of Dickinson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph H. Kubik (2002); grandparents, Alphonse and Dorothy Kubik, Belleville Whitehead Jr. , Marshall T. Bergerud; and uncle, Donald Kubik.
