A memorial service for Ida Bickle will be held at 11:00 a. m, Saturday October 20, 2007 at the American Lutheran Church, Baker, Mt with Pastor Bruce Kolasch officiating. Burial will follow at the Bonnievale Cemetery, Baker, MT. Ida passed away peacefully in her home form breast cancer on April 25, 2007 surrounded by her family. Ida was born in Beach, North Dakota on August 4, 1936 to George and Pearl Randash. She grew up in Baker, Montana and graduated from Baker High School in 1954. She attended Montana State University where she earned a bachelor?s degree in nursing in 1958. She married her high school sweetheart, Harold L. Bickle, in 1957. They had one daughter, Marva, and later divorced. Ida moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1965, where she worked as a nurse and began her master?s degree in nursing at the University of Utah, which she earned in 1968. She had a long and successful career in nursing. She worked for the College of nursing at the University of Utah and then for many years at the Veterans Administration Hospital where she coordinated nursing education programs. She retired from the VA in 1996. She was also an active member of the American nurses Association. After retiring, Ida enjoyed working in her yard, reading the daily newspaper cover to cover, and doing the crossword puzzle. She followed the politics and loved spending time with her daughter, Marva, son-in-law, Johan and their dog, Teke. She enjoyed visits from her only brother, Bill Randash, and his wife, Phyllis as well as many wonderful memories with her dear aunt and uncle, Vern and Marva Wolcott. One of her favorite things to do was attend Baker High School class reunions to renew life long friendships. Her greatest joy during the past year was looking forward to becoming a grandmother for the first time. Ida is survived by her daughter Marva Bickle (John Lewis), her brother, Bill Randash (Phyllis), her aunt, Marva Wolcott (Vern), and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Pearl Randash. Ida?s family would like to thank Dr. Martha Glenn and Debbie Green at the Huntsman Cancer Institute for the kind and gentle care she received. A special thanks also to Community Nursing Services Hospice nurses Jennifer and Karen.
