Funeral Mass for Ida Brilz, 87 of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Richardton with Father Boniface Muggli OSB and Abbot Brian Wangler OSB celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Mary?s Cemetery in Richardton. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, 2005 from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at St. Mary?s Catholic Church prior to the Funeral Mass. Ida passed away Friday, June 17, 2005 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Ida was born November 1, 1917 on the family farm north of Richardton, the oldest of eight children born to Rochus and Margaret (Renner) Brilz. She grew up on the family farm and attended schools at Richardton, St. Mary?s and later country school in Stark County. Ida worked at the hospital in Richardton as a Nurses Aid from 1940 until 1948. At that time she devoted herself to caring for her parents through their later years on the family farm. She lived with her brother for a couple of years before moving to the Subiaco Retirement Home in Dickinson. From there, Ida moved to Evergreen Retirement Home and then to St. Benedict?s Health Center where she had made her home since. She was a great gardener and had beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. Ida always loved babysitting her nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America ?Court-Bishop Wehrle?, Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and the Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include a sister, Alvera Schuld of Dickinson; three brothers: George Brilz of Boise, ID, Eugene (Georgia) Brilz of Chandler, AZ and Arnold (Marlene) Brilz of Minot, ND; a sister-in-law, Rita Brilz of Boise, ID and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Al and Ed Brilz and a sister, Eleanor Slag.
