Funeral service for Ida Feil, 94, of Hebron will be 10:00 a.m. CDT, Monday, June 20, 2011 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Hebron with Pastor Gaylund Olson officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. CDT, in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.
Visitation for Ida will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CDT, Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home, Hebron.
Ida rejoined her husband of 63 years, Walter, on June 16, 2011, when she changed her address from here to eternity.
Ida Katherine Fuchs was born in the Richardton area to Christ and Elisabetha (Walth) Fuchs on August 14, 1916. She grew up in the Richardton-Taylor area, graduating from Taylor High School. Ida worked at the Sweet Shop in Hebron and attended cosmetology school in Bismarck. On April 15, 1954, Ida married Walter Feil of Hebron. She opened Tiny’s Beauty Shop in their home, working there until they took over the Gambles hardware store, which they operated for 15 years. Ida was involved with the Hebron Homemakers, St. John’s Church & Women’s Guild, American Legion Auxiliary, and Royal Neighbors. In her free time, she could be seen riding her bicycle around the streets of Hebron. In retirement, Ida became an avid bridge player, quilter, crocheter and reader.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Elsie Fehr and Metz Metzger and brother Walter Fuchs.
She is survived by her daughters Kimberly Feil of Miles City, MT and Becky (Mike) Wiege of Bloomfield, NJ and granddaughter Kairee Wiege, also of Bloomfield, NJ. Ida is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
