Funeral Mass for Ida Kuntz, 91, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Patrick Schumacher and Albert Leary con-celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Pius Catholic Cemetery, Schefield.
Visitation for Ida will be from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a Rosary and Vigil Service being held at 7:00 p.m.
Ida passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.
Ida Olheiser was born January 14, 1921 in Stark County, ND to George and Beatrice (Heidt) Olheiser. She was raised and educated in Schefield, ND. On June 15, 1943, Ida married Anton Kuntz in St. Pius Catholic Church. Together they farmed in the Schefield and Lefor area. After Anton passed away in 1962, Ida moved to Dickinson. She then began working for St. Benedict’s Health Center and St. Luke’s Nursing Home until her retirement in 1985. Ida was devoted to helping others and this was seen by her wonderful caretaker qualities and the positive attitude she had for both of her jobs. Ida was a member of St. Pius Verein along with volunteering at Pioneer Haven. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, playing Bingo and cooking. She considered the greatest moments in life as the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Ida is survived by her six sons: Casper (Connie) of Mandan, Willie (Florence) of Dickinson, Simon (Kathy) of Dickinson, Paul (Donna) of Dickinson, Jerome (Carol) of Dickinson and Albert “Al” (Linda) of Bismarck; step-daughter, Delores (David) Zastoupil of Dickinson; 13 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Barbara Weiler, Leona Reisenauer, Jennie (Douglas) Frisbee, Beatrice (Tony) Schwindt, Cecilia (Don) Sampson, Agnes Olheiser and Rose Kitzen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Beatrice Heidt; husband, Anton; one son, Richard; one daughter, Diane Privratsky; one granddaughter, Jennifer Kuntz; six brothers, Joe, Tony, Christ, Ralph, Aloysius and George; and one sister, Tillie Urlacher.
