Idella Holm

Funeral Services for Idella B. Freier-Holm, 83, of Baker, MT formerly of Marmarth, ND and Big Timber, MT will be 11:00 a. m. on Monday, November 16, 2009 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker with Idella?s Step-son, Pastor Jason Holm officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 2:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. on Sunday, the 15th, at Stevenson Funeral home with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p. m. in the Chapel. Idella passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Fallon Medical Complex Nursing Home in Baker. Idella was born on November 9, 1926, in Artas, SD a daughter of Edwin and Bertha (Orth) Kusler. The family moved to a farm south of Plevna, MT when Idella was three. Her father passed away when she was eight and her mother moved them into Plevna where Idella attended school. Idella graduated as Salutatorian of the Plevna High School Class of 1944. On October 6, 1946, Idella married Edmund Freier, and to this union three sons, Wayne, Jerry and Kelly were born. Idella and Edmund farmed west of Baker until 1958, when they moved into Baker. Idella worked at the Montana Bank of Baker for 18 years. After Edmunds death in 1976, Idella married Lynn Holm in Plevna on October 14, 1978. All of Lynn?s family except Jason, a three year old son had perished in an auto accident. At 50 years old, Idella began to raise her 4th son. Lynn and Idella pastored the Marmarth Bible Church and in 1989, moved to Big Timber, MT to pastor the Evangelical Free Church. Idella was very active in their ministry, playing piano, teaching Sunday school and being the ?Grandmother? to all of the young kids in Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all. Her son?s say that in all the years they have known their mother, they never heard a mean or bitter word spoken against anyone. Idella is survived by her 4 sons, and their wives, Wayne (Betti) Freier of Billings, MT, Jerry (Pam) Freier of Bismarck, ND, Kelly (Anita) Freier of Troutdale, OR and Jason (Allison) Holm of Racine, WI; a sister, Arlene (Verle) Graham of Baker, MT; 4 sister-in-laws, Betty Kusler of Baker, MT, Edna Atkinson of Glendive, MT, Agnes (Russell ) Wiseman of Nashaua, NH and Wendy Pugh of Havre, MT; 2 brother-in-laws, John Buerkle and Maurice Allerdings both of Plevna, MT; her father and mother-in-law Lloyd and Francis Holm both of Minnesota and leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Bertha, both husbands, Edmund and Lynn, 2 brothers, Leroy and Glenn and her grandson, Aaron.
