Illa Hardy

Funeral Service for Illa Kay Hardy, 63, of Dickinson, ND formerly of Sidney, MT will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Pella Lutheran Church in Sidney, MT with Reverend Charlane Lines officiating. Interment will be at a later date.


Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday.


Illa passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson, ND.


Illa Partin was born September 7, 1947, in Sidney, MT. She grew up in the home of Ira Partin and Joyce (Schlenz) Hernandez. Illa attended school in Sidney. Over the years, Illa worked primarily as a truck driver, hauling everything from beets to beef throughout the country traveling from the east coast to the west coast and all points in between. She kept very busy during the first oil boom in the 80’s. Illa loved animals and was always willing to rescue one. She also enjoyed riding horse, attending rodeos, reading, hunting, fishing and gardening. Illa was always on the road following her children’s activities, from rodeo to motocross. She moved to Dickinson in 1994, to be closer to her daughter. While in Dickinson, she met Charles Hardy and the two were married in 2001.


Illa is survived by her husband, Charles of Dickinson; son, Cody Gibson of Sidney; daughter, Stacey Thornton of Dickinson; siblings, Rick Partin of Sidney, Jeff Partin of Killdeer, Nadine (Bruce) Swisse of Sidney, Jody (Ray) Kordonowy of Sidney and Tim Partin of Sidney; and seven grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by daughter Jeannette Coldwell; her father, Ira Partin; step-father, Phil Hernandez; a grandson, Clell Gibson and a step-son, Mike Bibeau.
