Ingeborg Higgins

A funeral service for Ingeborg Higgins, 77, of Plevna, will be held at 10:00 a. m. , Monday, January 4, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Baker with Pastor Levi Durfey officiating. Burial will take place in Plevna Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m. , Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Inge passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. Ingeborg Huber was born November 11, 1938 in Marienload, Czech Republic, the daughter of Johann and Anna Maria (Punzet) Huber. She grew up in the Czech Republic and moved to Germany during World War II. While living in Germany, Inge met the love of her life, Ralph Higgins. Inge and Ralph were married on January 21, 1959 in Manheim, Germany. To this union five children were born: Alba, Alice, Bruce, Darrell, and Ronda. After Ralph’s retirement from the Army in 1975, the family moved to Plevna, MT where they made their home. Inge worked at the Plevna Public School for 12 years as the playground monitor and various other jobs while living in Plevna. After retiring from the school, she continued to live in Plevna, doing the things she loved; sewing, crafts, cooking, taking care of her family and enjoying time with her grandchildren. Inge is survived by her sons, Alba (Sandy) of Plevna, MT, Bruce (Mary) of Gresham, OR, and Darrell (Emma) of Jordan, MT; daughters, Alice Higgins of Miles City, MT, and Ronda (Wes) Rogge of Sand Springs, MT; 15 grandchildren; and 29 ½ great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Johann and Anna Maria Huber; husband, Ralph Higgins; and brother, Karl Huber. Family suggests memorials be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
