Funeral Mass for Irene Luptak Anderson, 82, of Dickinson, will be 11:00 a. m. , Friday, January 25, 2013 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Kregg W. Hochhalter celebrating. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in New Hradec, ND.
Visitation for Irene will be 10:00 a. m. to 8:00 p. m. , Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 a. m. to 10:00 a. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home.
Irene Luptak Anderson, died in her sleep, in her home in Dickinson, on January 17, 2013.
Irene was born on August 13, 1930, to Joe V. and Eleanor (Kadrmas) Kralicek in Dunn County. She grew up on the farm between Manning and Dickinson, and attended country school in her neighborhood. She attended Model High School in Dickinson where she graduated in 1948. Following graduation, she was employed at the Dickinson division office of the North Dakota Department of Transportation until 1951. On October 17, 1950, she married Leonard Luptak at St. Wenceslaus Church in Dickinson and was a farm wife on the family farm north of South Heart in Dunn County. In 1967, the family moved to Killdeer ND where Leonard worked as an insurance agent for Farmers Union Insurance. In 1968, Irene began work at the Dunn County ASCS office in Killdeer, where she worked through 1988. For a couple of those years she was employed by the county FmHA office. During the final five years of her employment, she was the county executive director of the Dunn County ASCS Office. From 1968 through 1978, the family also operated and lived on a farm seven miles northeast of Killdeer. Following the death of her husband, Leonard, on April 6, 1978, Irene continued to work and live in Killdeer until her retirement in February 1988. After retirement, she moved to Dickinson. Following her retirement, Irene was very active in the North Dakota chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) and held offices in the organization. On May 27, 1988, she married Allen C Anderson of Dickinson. They remained together in Dickinson until his death on July 22, 2005. Irene enjoyed travel. She and Allen traveled to Europe and Australia and New Zealand and throughout the United States and Canada. She loved reading and, in her earlier years, enjoyed cooking and making clothes. She was an active member of St. Wenceslaus parish in Dickinson, where she helped with volunteer scheduling and music ministry. For many years, until shortly before her death, she was a volunteer at the ARC Aid thrift store in Dickinson. She was devoted to the disabled and developmentally disabled. She enjoyed going to Silver Sneakers at the Dickinson Recreation Center and visiting with her many close friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Tillie Pribyl and Mildred Wolberg and her brother Charles Kralicek, as well as her first husband, Leonard, and her second husband, Allen. She was also preceded in death by a son, Peter, who died shortly after birth, and a step son, Lester Anderson.
She is survived by her daughter Carol Rogne (husband Kent) of Dickinson, and her sons Duane Luptak (wife Marilyn) of Salt Lake City and James Luptak (wife Jane) of Bismarck. She is also survived by two grandsons, Steven Rogne (wife Amber) and Robert Luptak (Toshia) and two great-grandsons, Oscar Rogne and Dominic Rindahl. She is also survived by four step daughters: Elizabeth (Fred) Lusen, Coppell, TX, Sharon (Harold) Maershbecker, New England, ND, Gretchen Hill, Little Rock, AR, Rosemarie Anderson, Little Rock, AR, two step sons, Norman (Joyce) Anderson, Elk City, OK, Robert (Karla) Anderson, Dickinson, ND, twelve grandchildren, Stephanie (Nathan) Rydalch, Shawn (Heather) Maershbecker, Shad (Tara) Maershbecker, Jacob Anderson, Gina Anderson, Miranda (Joe) Marx, Matthew Anderson, Jeremy Anderson, Katherine(Sonny) Davis, Clayton Anderson, Mark Anderson, Summer Anderson, eleven great grandchildren, Stockton, Satchel, Mia and Colter Rydalch, London and Mckenna Maershbecker, Isabella and Gavin Maershbecker, Grayson and Arabella Marx, and Evan Davis. The family requests that memorials be made to Irene?s favorite charity, ARC of Dickinson.
