Irene Huber

Irene passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Southwestern Memorial Hospital in Weatherford, OK. She was born February 12, 1924 at Eureka, SD, the daughter of Gustav and Emilie (Bertsch) Feiock. In October of 1928 the family moved to a farm east of Baker which is now part of the Murphy Ranch. After her father?s death in 1933, her mother continued to farm for several years before she moved the family into Plevna in 1935. Irene attended schools at Fertile Prairie and in Plevna, graduating in 1943. On May 12, 1946 Irene and Wilmer Huber were united in married at the First Baptist Church in Plevna. To this union two daughters, Peggy & Colleen and a son, Keith were born. Wilmer and Irene farmed until 1957 when they moved into Plevna. Irene began her years of giving music lessons to many area students. She also worked at various jobs which included the post office, an insurance office in Billings and secretary for the school system. Irene worked for the Young Law Office where she worked for 15 years until her retirement in 1989. Irene loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Women?s Mission Circle. She became a Christian in her youth and served the Lord throughout her life. Irene enjoyed and played the piano and organ for the church in Plevna for 69 years, playing for many different groups and gatherings. She was very active in the Plevna Senior Citizens Center where she served on the board. Irene was a prayer warrior for family especially her two grandsons. Survivors include her loving husband, Wilmer, Weatherford, OK; a daughter Colleen (Robert) Burkle of Corn, OK, two grandsons, Jeff Burkle (and his friend Melissa), Tulsa, OK and Brian Burkle of Corn, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Keith; a daughter Peggy in 1995; three sisters Juanita Haar and two infant sisters; and a brother, Clarence.
