Irene was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck. Irene Monica Weiler was born June 17, 1936 in Dickinson, ND to Nick and Margaret (Schwindt) Weiler. She spent her entire life in Dickinson where she attended St. Joseph’s grade school and Dickinson High School. She graduated in 1954. While growing up Irene wanted to be a nurse and take care of babies so she worked at the hospital as a Candy Striper. Once she realized she didn’t like to be around all the sickness, she quit. Though Irene said math was a difficult subject for her in school, she later worked for a bank where her job was to find errors when balances did not reconcile. She said she was good and fast at it. On May 10, 1957 Irene married the love of her life Patrick Tuite. They settled in Dickinson and after 6 years of marriage moved into the Weiler family home where they lived and raised their family until they moved into Park Avenue Villa in 2014. They shared more than 58 amazing years together. A devoted mother to her four boys, Irene so wanted a little girl and often joked that when “the boys” started coming in twos she knew it was time to stop. When she became a grandma she was thrilled and whether boy, girl or step, they were loved with the amazing love only a grandma can give. Irene’s faith was important to her. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the St. Anne’s Society until her death. She also volunteered for many years at the Amen Food Pantry. An avid bowler, Irene bowled on a league at Classic Lanes for many, many years. She loved to play cards and go to lunch with her life-long friends. Irene loved baseball and in her early years was a Brooklyn Dodgers and Chicago Cubs fan. She later cheered on the Minnesota Twins. Irene was a woman with a big heart. Family and friends were her passion. She enjoyed going to Circle and Sidney MT to spend time with her aunt and sister and brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was an amazing cook and loved to celebrate holidays at her home. Irene is survived by her husband, Pat; three sons – Patrick (aka Mick) Tuite of Bismarck, ND; Brian (Laurie) Tuite of Finley, ND; Robert (Sharon) Tuite of Arlington, TX; her grandchildren and step-grandchildren – Aaron Tuite, Jordyn Tuite, Ryan Tuite and Kyle (Sheila) Nelson; and her step granddaughter Isabelle Nelson; one sister – Delores (Cliff) Barnhart; Nieces, nephews and many cousins. Irene was preceded in death by her infant son, Mark Tuite; son, Shannon Tuite; and sister Eva Goetz. Irene will be dearly missed by all those who loved her.
