Isabel Hanson, 94, Dickinson, died Sunday, January 19, 2003, at St. Luke?s Home, Dickinson. Funeral services will be 1:30 p. m. Thursday, January 23, 2003, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with the Rev. Steven Tangen and the Rev. Pat Higgins officiating. Interment will be in Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be at Price-Murphy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12 noon to 9 p. m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p. m. Visitation will continue at Price-Murphy Funeral Home on Thursday from 9 a. m. to 11 a. m. and at the church one hour prior to the service. Isabel Anderson was born August 6, 1908, in Lisbon, North Dakota to Andrew and Mary (Malarkey) Anderson. She attended school at Engleville School and later obtained her teaching certificate at Valley City. Isabel taught at Moord Township in rural New England. On June 4, 1930, she married Henry O. Hanson in Lisbon, North Dakota. Isabel enjoyed reading paperback books, gardening, knitting, playing cards and games. She loved to learn and travel. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dickinson and a past member of Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Church in New England. Isabel Hanson is survived by: one daughter, Harriet (Francis) Birnbaum, Hankinson, N. D. ; two sons, Hugo (Diana) Hanson and Harris Hanson, both of New England; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; one sister, Rose Lawrence; three brothers, Bernie, Lyle and Louis Anderson and one daughter-in-law, Elaine Hanson.
