Funeral Mass for Jack Heidt 77, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Friday, March 24, 2006 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Jeff Zwack officiating. Burial will be in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in DickinsonA Rosary and Vigil will be 7:30p. m. Thursday, March 23, 2006 at the Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel with Deacon Jerry Volk. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel and continuing one hour prior to service at the church. Jack passed away Monday, March 20, 2006 at St. Benedict’s Health Center In Dickinson. Jack was born August 1, 1928 the son of George and Frances (Kubishta) Heidt at Fayette, ND. He grew up and attended school in Taylor. He continued to help and work on the family farm as a young man. Jack was married to Juliana Dukart on June 19, 1951 at Scheffield, ND. To this union, two sons were born: Don and Ron. The family moved to Montana where they lived in Livingston and Billings where Jack managed and operated service stations. The family returned to Dickinson and Jack operated the Phillips 66 station on Hwy 22. He later started the D & J Construction Co. which he operated with his sons for many years. After the death of his wife, Juliana in 1984, he was married to Dorothy (Wolberg) Thielen on September 22, 1986 in Dickinson. Jack retired in 2002 and they continued to make Dickinson their home. Jack enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing guitar and listening to old time music as well as dancing on Saturday night. He dearly loved his two sons and all of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step grand and great-grandchildren. Survivors include, his wife, Dorothy, Dickinson; two sons: Don (Jackie) Heidt and Ron (Karen) Heidt all of Dickinson; a step daughter, Linda (George) Sykora, three step-sons: Lloyd Thielen, Dan (Wanda) Thielen and Ken (Brenda) Thielen all of Dickinson; two brothers: Paul (Betty) Heidt , Wichita, KS and Pete ( Irene) Heidt, Dickinson; two sisters: Francis (Clem) Dukart, Billings, MT and Ida (Clem) Oster, Dickinson; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchldren; one great-grandchild and one step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Juliana; two sisters: Mary Kuntz and Barbara Oster and two brothers-in-law: Jack Kuntz and Frank Oster.
