Funeral Services for Darl ?Jack? Olson, 79, Killdeer, will be 11:00 a. m. Monday, January 8, 2006 at St. John?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Killdeer with Rev. Aanen Gjovik and Rev. Corey Warner officiating. Burial will follow in the Killdeer Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, January 6, 2006 from 9:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, continuing on Sunday, January 7, 2006, at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer from 12 noon to 9 p. m. with a prayer service at 7 p. m. Monday visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Jack passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at Hill Top Home of Comfort, Killdeer. Jack was born on June 24, 1927 in Dunn County to Oswald and Pearl (Leroy) Olson. He grew up and attended the Benson Country School. Jack worked for various ranches before enlisting in the U. S. Army in 1951. He served during the Korean Conflict where he began his career in mechanics. He was honorably discharged in December of 1952 and returned to western North Dakota where he worked in the oilfield as a truck driver. Jack began his own trucking business which operated for several years. He began working at John Deere Motor Inn as a mechanic in Killdeer. On November 6, 1962, he married Minnie Kummer Grevious. Later Jack worked for the Killdeer Public School as a bus driver as well as doing maintenance for the school buses. After his retirement in 1988, he drove vehicles for Dean Bender Chevrolet for many years. Due to failing health, he moved into the Hill Top Home of Comfort. Jack loved to fish, read and play cards. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and children. He was a member of St. John?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Killdeer, 50 year American Legion Member, served as a commander, and was the veterans service officer. He also volunteered for the ambulance squad and fire department. Survivors include his children: Starla (Perry) Kirschemann, Mott, ND, Gerald (LaDonna) Grevious, Killdeer, ND, Darl (Coty) Grevious, Glendive, MT, Neil (Donna) Grevious, Belgrade, MT, Madella (Norman) Kruckenberg, Dodge, ND, Roger (Eloise) Narveson, Dickinson, ND, Wanda Davis, Grand Forks, ND, Austin Grevious, Seattle, WA, Dexter (Tracey) Grevious, Gig Harbor, WA, and one daughter-in-law, Shirley (Jim) Borg, Bismarck, ND; three brothers: Cliff (Vernetta) Olson, Verndale, MN, Gary (Loretta) Olson, Chewelah, WA and Harold (Maureen) Olson, Killdeer, ND; two sisters, Irene (Charles) Meduna, Dickinson, ND and Marilyn Walker, Deer Lodge, MT; 29 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie; his parents; a son, Denver Grevious; nephews, Dennis Meduna and Larry Meduna and a brother-in-law, Richard Walker.
