A funeral Mass for Jacob Frank, 86, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New England with Father Biju Chitteth celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Pius Cemetery, Scheffield. Visitation for Jacob will be from 2:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church. Jacob passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Jacob “Jake” Frank was born October 18, 1928 in Stark County, the son of Sebastian and Agatha (Gerhardt) Frank. He grew up and attended school at St. Pius School in Scheffield. Jake was united in marriage to Florence Smith on October 23, 1950 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, rural Gaylord. To this union, eight children were born. Jake was a life time farmer, taking over the family farm that his grandfather homesteaded. He worked hard and was proud to be a farmer. He enjoyed spring seeding, flower gardens, dancing, playing cards, visiting with family, friends and neighbors and riding his 4-wheeler. Jacob was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of New England, St. Pius Verein, Knights of Columbus Council 6308, St. Anthony Club and he was a St. Pius School Board member for over 10 years. Jacob is survived by his wife Florence, of 64 years; daughters, Ann Cabral (Claud Privratsky) of Dickinson, Elizabeth Roman of Sarasota, FL, Cindy (Del) Miller of Dickinson; sons, Edward (Cindy) of Elk River, MN, William (Rita), Jeff, and Gordon (Mary) all of Dickinson, Larry (Carmey) of Rhame; grandchildren, Robert, Genneth, Amanda, Christopher, Kendra, Kaylene, Shannon, Cole, Lacey, and Casey; great-grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, and Carlie; brothers, Victor (Loretta) Frank of Billings, MT, and Bede (Rose) Frank of Bismarck; sisters, Delores Brinster of Scappoose, OR, Hilda Huck of Billings, MT, Gladys (Benedict) Zastoupil of South Heart, and Mildred (Ray) Stockert of Fergus Falls. MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebastian and Agatha; sisters, Martha Kudrna, Rita Berger, and infant sister Catherine; infant brother Raymond; brothers-in-law, Robert Brinster, Ed Kudrna and James Huck; daughter-in-law, Gaylene Frank, and infant granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Joseph’s Heartland Hospice or American Cancer Society.
