Jim passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

James Robert Bosch was born January 24, 1937 at home in Dunn Center, ND, son of Joe and Georgia (Smith) Bosch. He attended Dunn Center School and graduated from Killdeer High School in 1955. Jim met the love of his life, Claudia Wolf, at a friends wedding in August of 1961. On January 3, 1962, Jim proposed to Claudia and a June 20, 1962 wedding took place in Mott, ND. After their wedding, the couple resided in Dickinson. On March 19, 1964, a son, Patrick James was born. To make their family complete, Jim and Claudia adopted a daughter, Tana Marie in 1972. Jim proudly served the North Dakota National Guard for 37 years, retiring with a rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. During his military years, he had the opportunity to serve in the countries of Honduras, Panama, Jamaica and Germany. Jim was honored with numerous awards and recognition, one being the Meritorious Service Medal. Jim was involved in many community affairs, including serving on the Roughrider Commission and as the President of the Dickinson Chamber of Commerce. Over the years, Jim had been employed by the North Dakota National Guard and TMI, Inc. , but his partnership with his father and brothers at Bosch Lumber Company was the employment he most treasured. After retirement, Jim enjoyed traveling the world with Claudia, volunteering as a “Candy Man” at Trinity High School and loved being a “Papa” to his two grandchildren. When his wife, Claudia was the National Regent of the Catholic Daughters, he was very busy (and loving it) being her receptionist, answering the phone, taking messages and of course, traveling with her when she had too much luggage.

Jim is survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years, Claudia; one son, Patrick (Patty Dunn) of Denver, CO; one daughter, Tana and her husband, Tim Johnson and their children Jenna Marie and Talon James of Dickinson; three brothers, Bill (Irene) of Dickinson, Joel (Cindy) of Arizona and Paul (Jackie) of Dickinson; one sister, Loralee Bosch of Dickinson; one brother-in-law, Roger (Bonnie) Wolf of Arizona; and two sisters-in-law, Adeline Bogner of New England and Barbara Wolf of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother; father-in-law and mother-in-law; one brother, Keith (Lynette) Bosch; two brothers-in-law, Bud Bogner and Larry Wolf; and one brother and sister in-law, Dale and Beatrice Pudlitzke.
