James Dotson, 82, of Dickinson, formerly of Idaho, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at St. Luke's Home in Dickinson. Services will take place at a later date.
James E. Dotson was born on April 12, 1941 in Arkansas to James and Lila (Charity) Riley. At five years old, he was adopted by Clifford and Rita (Shaw) Dotson. He grew up in Greenleaf, Idaho on a dairy farm.
James married Betty Lou Daggett on November 2, 1974 in Elko, Nevada. After getting married, the couple moved to Soda Springs, Idaho, where James worked construction in the mines.
James enjoyed hunting and having coffee with his friends.
James is survived by his daughters, Della (Tiffany) Dotson; Anita Miller, Rhonda Ravenkamp, Melinda Dudley, and Debbie (Tom) Goodman; son, Tracey (Diana) Goodloe; grandchildren, Mason Nutter, Maura Dotson, Will Ravenkamp, Marshall Goodloe, Sara Goodloe, Drake Avilla, Cody Dudley, and Amanda Hansen; and his sister, Dixie Bartlett.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou; his parents; brothers, Bill Riley, Robert Riley, and Steve Riley; and sister, Betty Xenias.
