On the afternoon of August 17th 2024, Jim peacefully passed away while at the Fallon County Nursing home at the age of 78 years old.James Richard Hagadone was born in Wolf Point, Montana on April 8, 1946. He was the fifth of ten children born to William and Ruby (Groseth) Hagadone.
Jim attended school in Poplar, Montana where he graduated in the spring of 1965. After high school Jim enlisted in the Navy. While proudly serving our country Jim spent a majority of his enlisted time in Japan on the USS Theodore E. Chandler. After his time in the Navy Jim moved back to Poplar and worked in the oilfield on a workover rig. During this time Jim met his beloved wife Peggy Bickle in Poplar. They were married in Miles City, Montana on April 1st, 1972. They may have been married on April Fool’s but their love for each other was no joke. Jim and Peggy had two children, Scott and Kristin, while living in Poplar. After Kristin was born, Jim and Peggy decided to move back to live and work on the Bickle family ranch in Plevna, Montana. Aside from working on the ranch and raising a family, Jim also served as chief on the Plevna Volunteer Fire Department for quite a few years. Jim was always willing to lend a helping hand to a neighbor or friend. His smile could light up the room and his family was the most important thing in his life.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, his parents Bill and Ruby Hagadone, sisters Joyce, Leanne and Elaine. Jim is survived by son Scott (Fi) Hagadone of Tracy, CA, daughter Kristin Hagadone of Coeur d Alene, ID siblings Don (Jackie), Mary Lou, Dwayne all from Poplar, MT, Linda (Bill) from Missoula, MT, Sharon (Larry) of Broadus, MT and Allen from Townsend, MT and two granddaughters that were the apple of his eye, Brooke Hagadone and Isabella Rice.
The family wants to thank the community of friends and extended family who would stop in and visit Jim while in the nursing home. Thank you to all of those caregivers that loved our dad! We are forever grateful for all that you did for him. Services will be held next summer. More details to follow. Stevenson’s & Sons Funeral Home of Baker is in charge of the arrangements.
