Funeral Services for James C. Holm, 91, of Dickinson will be 10:30 a. m. , Monday, June 30, 2008 at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Pastor Roger Dieterle officiating. Visitation will be 1-5 p. m. , Saturday, June 28, 2008 and 1- 9 p. m. , Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a prayer service at 7:30p. m. , Sunday. Jim passed away June 25, 2008 at St. Luke?s Nursing Home in Dickinson. Jim was born October 25, 1916 to Karl and Julia (Hansen) Holm in Dickinson, ND. He grew up on the family farm south of South Heart, where he attended country school at the Fisher School. After his schooling, he helped on the family farm before joining the CC?s. This took him to central Minnesota and eventually Jim returned home to the family farm. On November 12, 1939 Jim married Esther Remme at the old St. John Church in Dickinson. The couple made their home on the family farm in the Daglum area. It was here that they raised their six children. Jim and Esther farmed in the area until retiring and moving into Dickinson in 1985. Jim and Esther enjoyed traveling around the country. He enjoyed woodworking, along with building various metal sculptures. Jim was a member of the Gideon?s and the Sons of Norway. He was a member of both the Daglum Lutheran Church and Our Savior?s Lutheran Church, where he was remembered for passing out ?Heaven? business cards. Grateful for having shared his life are his children: JoAn (George) Sauvageau of Colorado Springs, CO, Dave (Bonnie) Holm of Colorado Springs, CO, Skip (Dede) Holm of Los Angeles, CA, Arnie Holm of Denver, CO, Charlotte (Conrad) Steier of Fargo, ND and Peggy (Jeff) Anderson of Dickinson, ND; along with 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Esther in 2003, his parents and a brother Arnold Holm.
