James “Jim” Victor Kuntz was born on December 16, 1953 in Dickinson, ND, to Adam Kuntz and Rose Mary (Miller) Kuntz, the youngest of three children. He grew up on the family farm near Belfield and attended country school. Jim worked on the family farm for several years along with working for Dickinson Redi-Mix. Jim began his career at Agri-Power, which eventually became West Plains Implement, and worked there for over 40 years. Jim married Patricia Ann Warren on May 23, 1975, and they were blessed with two daughters, Alexis Lee and Kari Lynne.
Jim had the biggest heart and always put everyone else before himself, despite his attempts to convince everyone to the contrary. He worked hard all his life and tried to do his part to make this world a better place. He was a gentle, humble, caring man and touched so many lives with his kindness, willingness to help, support, guide and advise. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Eagles and taking the occasional trip to the casinos. He especially enjoyed spending time with his kids when they came back to visit. Jim was always ready to lend a hand with his mechanical skills to help family and friends get back in the field quickly. He was grateful for the time he spent on the farm, especially in recent years. Jim had a love for animals and was always willing to adopt a stray cat or dog. Jim had a great sense of humor that led to countless pranks at work and at home. Above all, he was the best dad, son, brother and friend we could have ever asked for and he will be greatly missed for his loving, selfless, and hardworking nature and will be forever in our hearts.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Alexis Lee (Shaker) Kuntz of Falcon Heights, MN, Kari Lynne (Jason) Kuntz of New Orleans, LA; brother, Florian (Debbie) Kuntz of Belfield, ND; sister, Kathleen Djenab of Washington, DC.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Rose; and wife, Patricia.
