Muriel Jane Roberts was born March 15, 1919 on the family homestead near Bowman, ND to Harry and Hulda (Carlson) Roberts. Jane met and married Mahlon R. Everett in Amidon, ND where her family ran The Amidon Hotel and Mahlon worked as an engineer for the Bureau of Reclamation. Jane taught grade school after graduating from Valley City Teacher?s College. She taught the first grade in Mott, ND where she had 62 small and lively students. Jane and Mahlon raised their family of three children, Karlin, Bill and Mary in Dickinson. Mahlon took over Everett Real Estate in Dickinson, after his father?s death. Jane?s many charities include the American Cancer Society, a 50 year member of P. E. O. and the Roundtable. She enjoyed playing bridge. Jane was a long time member of The United Church of Christ where she served in the choir and many other areas of the church. Jane was the story teller, role model and tireless champion of her family. She lived her life to serve the community, church, and those less fortunate. In midlife she experienced her own bout with cancer. With little recognition, she visited countless cancer patients to give them hope. She was honored by the American Cancer Society for her many years with Relay for Life and her hours of service. She was one of a kind and will be deeply missed. Jane is survived by a son, William (Kathie) Everett and family, TX; a daughter, Mary (Patrick) McNaughton, MN; son-in-law, Paul Kathrein, MT; grandchildren, Mark (Wendy) Kathrein, Lisa (Mark) Blades, Jim (Stephanie) Everett, Michael (Kim) Everett, Tanya (Colin) Strathman, Joseph H.
