Janell Marie Hellman was born April 18, 1971 to Richard and Isabel (Elder) Rebel in Dickinson, ND. She grew up in Hebron, ND attending grade school and later graduating from Hebron High School. On August 30, 1991 she married Darren Hellman at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, rural Glen Ullin. The couple resided in Bismarck. While there, they were blessed with their first daughter, Samantha, on October 12, 1992. Shortly thereafter, they pursued careers in McClusky, ND. Their second daughter, Chandra, joined the family on May 28, 1996. While in McClusky, Janell enjoyed her time working at the bank and made many lifelong friends. The couple?s youngest daughter, Roxanna was born June 17, 1997, three days after they moved to Glen Ullin to be closer to family. Janell loved being a stay-at-home mom with her three girls. Once the girls were off to school, Janell resumed her career at the Bank of Glen Ullin. Janell?s girls were always the focus of her life. Their activities and time together meant everything to her. Janell, Darren and their daughters realized one of their dreams in February 2006, when they purchased their farm from Darren?s parents. Janell was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she made Baptismal stoles for all newborn babies. She was also a member of the St. Joseph?s Christian Mothers. She was a Sunday school teacher and assisted with the Children?s Choir and Liturgy. She also enjoyed crocheting and all hand crafts. Janell was the captain and founding member of the ?Rattlemakers? Relay for Life Team. She founded the team in 2005 and participated in countless fundraisers throughout the years including the ?Night Golf for Life Tournament?. Janell had a courageous seven year battle with cancer, including fighting the first five years alongside her mother. The last two years of her battle with cancer were comforted greatly by her new puppy, Bella. She always put the needs of others in front of her own. Her strength, determination, and most importantly the positive attitude she kept were always an enormous inspiration to all who knew her.
