The geese and pheasants are flying scared on heaven’s hunting ground today. Jacob “Jay” Hauser, 43, Casselton, ND, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, in the comfort of his home, after a year and a half battle with cancer. Jacob was born in Dickinson, ND, on February 18, 1966, the son of Jacob “Jack” and Therisa (Dunn) Hauser. He grew up and attended school in Hebron, ND and NDSU, Fargo, ND where he played football. A bison fan he forever remained. In 2002, he married Jean Emter and they became the proud parents of Breana, five, and Landyn, three. Jay worked several years in the floor covering business for Herregan Distributors. Whether he was playing with his kids, camping with family, hunting with friends or tending to his yard at home, Jay loved spending time outdoors. Above all, Jay cherished time spent with family and friends. Always quick with a joke or one of his classic one-liners, he could brighten up even the darkest of rooms. He touched many lives from his closest family to complete strangers, and his compassion, honesty and legendary wit will always shine on through the people he knew and loved. Throughout his battle, Jay found peace and comfort in many things including a trip to Disney World, camping, Neil Diamond Live and countless good conversations. His “sweetie pie” and “butsky boy” will always remember their daddy for his strength, courage and the love he had for them and their mother. Rest in peace to our cherished husband, father, son, brother, friend and confidant; you will forever be missed and never forgotten.
