Jean P. Salmon Miller of Richardton, ND, passed away in the late hours of Saturday, December 7, 2002, at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson, ND. Jean was an educator, artist and believer that a person should never compromise on their true beliefs. She was born on September 28, 1920, in Little Falls, Minn. She received a BS degree from St. Cloud Teachers College in 1942. She began her teaching career in Zap, ND, and later in several locations in Minnesota. She then moved to Elkhorn, Wis. , where she taught art and English at the Elkhorn area high school from 1950 to her retirement in 1978. She received her Masters Degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1976. She married George Fricke Miller on September 8, 1951 and preceded her in death on April of 1991. She moved to Dickinson, ND in 1994 and later to Richardton, ND, in 1998. Her two children survive her: George L. (Sheila Jensen) Miller of Taylor, ND, Victoria (Brian) Blume of Lake Geneva, Wis. and one niece Stephanie (John) Vandreuil, Madison, Wis. She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret Salmon Richards, Elkhorn, Wis. A private family service will be held. Per Jean?s wishes, memorials should be sent to your local library.
