Jeanne was born April 13, 1933 in Dickinson, the daughter of Otto and Frances (Stover) Fresonke. As a young girl, the family moved to Oregon where she started her elementary schooling. The family moved back to New England where she continued her education at St. Mary’s High School, graduating with the class of 1951. Jeanne began working at the grocery store and the bank in New England. On October 15, 1953, Jeanne married Robert Kovar in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The couple was blessed with four children, Tracy, Lyle, Rocky and Judy. Together the family farmed and ranched 3 ½ miles east of Amidon. Jeanne served as the Amidon Post Master for nearly 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, reading and jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Amidon and the church Altar Guild. Jeanne enjoyed her Homemakers Club and participating in the community plays. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a wonderful story teller and loved to read to them, teach them songs, and play games with them. In 2015, Jeanne moved into Hawks Point and really loved her time there. She could always be found near the jigsaw puzzle table and was known as the best jigsaw puzzle maker!
