Jeannette Kathleen Laches was born January 27, 1951, in rural Mott, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Reinert) Laches. Growing up, she attended country school and graduated from Mott Lincoln High School.
Jeannette married James A. Sullivan on October 11, 1968 in St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. The couple was blessed with three daughters, Sherri, Stephanie, and Carrie. The family made their home on the farm north of Burt. Jeannette was a devoted and hard-working farm wife, and could often be found doing chores alongside Jim. Jeannette and Jim remained at the farm before retiring and moving to Dickinson in 2012.
Jeannette had a love for music and dancing. She played piano, everything from classical to country music. Jeannette was a great cook and took pride in feeding large groups. She also enjoyed classic cars and could identify the make and model from quite a distance. Jeannette and Jim found joy in travelling to Branson, Missouri and the East Coast.
Jeannette had a gift of being able to talk to anyone she came in contact with; nobody was ever a stranger for very long. She filled the room with her laughter and witty one-liners. She treasured the time she got to spend with her family and never missed a chance to visit. Jeannette was especially close with her sister Mabel, as they were kindred spirits.
Jeannette is survived by her husband, Jim of Dickinson; daughters, Sherri (Butch) Forsch and Stephanie (Troy) Dinius of Dickinson, Carrie (Bryan) Teske of Bismarck; grandchildren, Jessica (Chad Ferris) Forsch, Samantha (Logan) McIsaac, Ashley (Dan Honcharenko) Forsch, Brett (Samantha Schlag) Dinius, Logan Teske, and Kaia Teske; great-grandchild, Sadie; brother, Edward Laches; sister, Irene Messer; brother-in-law, Bill Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Laches; sisters, Mary Beth Powell and Mabel Walter; brothers-in-law, Mike Messer and Don Walter; and grandson, Travis Forsch; step-mother Rose Laches; niece Karen Harp.
