Jeannie Myrand

Funeral Services for Jennie Myrand, 94, of Dickinson will be at 1:00 p. m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dickinson with Pastor Steven Tangen and Pastor Lisa Lewton officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p. m. to 1:00 p. m. at the Church on Saturday. Jennie passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the Hill Top Home of Comfort in Killdeer, ND. Jennie (Iverson) Myrand was born July 31, 1915 to Gilbert and Ingeborg (Hognestad) Iverson on the family farm near Hampden, ND. She grew up on the farm, attended and graduated from High School in Alsen, ND. After graduation, Jennie was fortunate enough to get a job in Minot and attend Minot State Teacher?s College. After graduation, Jennie taught elementary school in North Dakota. She married Robert Myrand on March 29, 1944 in Grand Forks, ND. To this union their two sons were born; Gary and Dale. In 1969, the couple moved to Dickinson and Jennie resided there until 2008, when she moved to the Hilltop Home of Comfort in Killdeer. She had resided there until her passing. Jennie was involved in support of Public Libraries throughout North Dakota. She enjoyed playing bridge and entertaining for her family and friends. She was also a wonderful cook. Jennie was a 50 year member of the PEO as well as a long time member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dickinson. She also founded a bed and breakfast in her own home and donated all proceeds to scholarships. Jennie is survived by her sons; Gary Myrand, Bonny Lake, WA and Dale (Kim) Myrand, Los Angeles, CA. Jennie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert and three brothers: Irving, Grant and Robert.
