Funeral Service for Jean ?Jeannie? Padden, 75, of Camp Crook, SD formerly of Bowman, ND will be at 10:00 a. m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Camp Crook Area Community Center in Camp Crook, SD. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Camp Crook. Visitation will be 5:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. on Thursday, October 25th, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Ekalaka, MT with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. Visitation will continue on Friday one hour prior to the funeral service. Jeannie passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD. Jean Kathleen Padden was born on March 19, 1937, a daughter of Neil Sr. and Jeannie (Anderson) O?Connor in Yakima, WA. At the age of three, Jeannie, as she was known moved with her parents to a farm east of Medicine Rocks north of Ekalaka, MT. She attended the Medicine Rocks country school and Carter County High School in Ekalaka where she graduated in 1956. Following high school, Jeannie met and married Clarence Dingfelder. To this union eleven children were born: Donna, Vivian, Bill, Diane, Mike, Ron, Neil, Irene, Fred, George and Karen. Jeannie and Clarence would eventually divorce. Jeannie and her family lived northeast of Bowman, where she raised her children. Besides taking care of the family she milked cows and sold the milk and cream. In 1977, Jeannie and her children moved to Ekalaka, MT. Jeannie met Joseph ?Joby? Padden and the two were married on May 24, 1979 in Camp Crook, SD. Jeannie and Joby made their home on the Padden Ranch west of Camp Crook on Tie Creek. Jeannie made the ranch her home until May of this year when she moved into Camp Crook. Besides raising her children, Jeannie found time to enjoy gardening and raising chickens, guinea hens and peacocks. Lambing time was the favorite time of year, as she enjoyed feeding the bum lambs. In her community, Jeannie was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary, a member of the Red Hat Society and a member of the Diligent Doers Home Makers Club. Jeannie is survived by her children, Vivian (Tim) Pendergrass, Bill Dingfelder, Diane (Bill) Wear, Mike Pacetti, Ron (Nancy) Dingfelder, Neil (Kristi) Dingfelder, Irene (CJ) Jacobs, Fred (Michelle) Dingfelder, George (Steph) Dingfelder and Karen (Craig) Cheguis; two brothers, Neil (Sheila) O?Connor and Mike (Brenda) O?Connor; special friend, Marion Kerr; her care taker, Kathy Wood and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Jeannie O?Connor, her husband, Joby Padden, her daughter, Donna Dingfelder and her little brother, Walter ?Andy? O?Connor.
