Jeffery Altenburg

Family will be receiving Friends for Jeffrey Altenburg, 70, of Dickinson, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Burial will be Friday in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND.


Jeffrey passed away October 6, 2012 in Dickinson, North Dakota.


Jeffrey Altenburg was born December 9, 1941 in Dickinson, the son of Herbert “Doc” and Brenda (Telford) Altenburg. He grew up and attended Belfield Public School, graduating with the class of 1959. Jeffrey enlisted into the US Army and served in Germany. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Belfield. Jeffrey was united in marriage to Doreen Kubik. To this union, Mike, Ron, Sandy and Steve were born. The couple lived and raised their family in the Belfield area. He enjoyed following his children to all of their sporting events. Jeffrey worked in the oilfield. In the past several years, he has resided in Dickinson.


Jeffrey is survived by his sons, Mike (Cathy) of Elko, NV, Ron (Amy) of Minnetonka, MN, and Steve of Parker, CO; daughter, Sandra (Chris) Roper of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Taylor, Connor, Elizabeth, Evan, Olivia, Tori, Mackenzie, Landon; sister, Cheri Grinnsteiner of Pauko, HI; and nephew, Scott Grinnsteiner.
