Funeral service for Jerome “Jerry” Wahl, 79, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a.m. MDT, Monday, August 26, 2024 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with Pastor Mike Pretzer officiating. Burial and Military Honors will follow at 3:00 p.m. CDT at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.

Visitation for Jerry will take place one hour prior to the service on Monday at Stevenson Funeral Home.

Jerry passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at his home north of Dickinson.

Jerome John Wahl was born on September 25, 1944 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Oliver and Sarah (Wagemann) Wahl. He grew up in Ashley, North Dakota until he moved with his family to Bismarck. He graduated from Bismarck High School and attended Bismarck State College before finishing his education at North Dakota State University in 1968.

Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Julie Schreiner, on August 7, 1965. The couple was blessed with three children, Stacy, Brian, and Jennifer. The family lived in Gillette, Wyoming for a year before moving to Dickinson in November of 1969. Jerry began his career in the hospital pharmacy at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson and worked there until his retirement.

In his early years, Jerry was active in the boy scouts and was an avid hunter. Later, Jerry enjoyed putting old Broncos together and did so for each of his children. He also liked riding horses and was part of the 7th Calvary Group. He loved living on his ranch north of Dickinson.

Jerry was a member of the United Way and Rotary Club. He was president of the North Dakota Pharmacist Association and the North Dakota Society of Health System Pharmacists. He was also a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, serving in the Gulf War in the United Arab Emirates.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Stacy (Greg) Eider of Bismarck, Brian (Ranee) Wahl of Chandler, AZ; and Jennifer (CJ) Paluh of Bismarck; grandchildren, Jessi (Dustin), Dana, Skyler, Beau (Yelena), Tanner, Jordyn, Saydee, Michael (Kara), Ethan, Karli, Samantha (Gabriel), Tyler (Kayla), Colton, and Caden; numerous great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sharon (Tony) Gross of Bismarck.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Sarah.
