Funeral Service for Jerry Don Wariner, 62, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Military Rites will be presented by the Dickinson Honor Guard. Burial will take place at North Dakota Veteran?s Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Jerry passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011, at St. Alexis Hospital in Bismarck, ND with family by his side. Jerry Don Wariner was born March 20, 1949 in Pampa, TX the son of Milburn and Elsie (Smith) Wariner. He grew up in Lefors, Texas and graduated from Lefors High School in 1967. He married Rhonda Shipman in 1968. Together they had two children, Valorie and Rodney. In 1968 he joined the Navy and served in the Vietnam War. While serving he was on the USS Oriskany and USS Saratoga. He was very proud to have served his country. He moved to North Dakota in 1980 to work for Western Gas Processor in Fairfield. In 1983 he married Tweety Huschka. He adopted her three children Cynthia, Chris, and Carrie in 1989. Together they had a son, Jesse. Jerry Don or ?Stranger? as he was known by his friends, enjoyed country music especially the ?Highway Men. ? Jerry played guitar in his early days and was fond of following NASCAR. Jerry is survived by his sons, Rodney (Tara) Wariner of Burkburnett, TX; Chris (Gina) Wariner of Dickinson, ND; Jesse Wariner of Dickinson; daughters, Valorie Wariner of Wichita Falls, TX; Cynthia (Johnnie) Ell of Dickinson; Carrie (Jesse) Splichal of Dickinson; sister Bobbye (Joel) Combs of Pampa, TX; Brother, James (Barbara) Wariner of Platt City, MO; 16 grandchildren, special friends Tweety Wariner, Kelly Berg of Bismarck; Rhonda and Mike Maag of Wichita Falls, TX and his dog, Tuffman. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Arnold and Johnny.
