Jessie KeithFuneral Services for Jessie Keith, 78, of Ekalaka, Montana are 2:00 p. m. Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Carter County High School Gymnasium with Pastor Steve DeFord officiating. Burial will follow at Beaver Lodge Cemetery in Ekalaka. Visitation will be from 12:00 p. m. to 2:00 p. m. Saturday, March 26, 2006 at the Carter County High School Gymnasium. Jessie passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Dahl Memorial Hospital in Ekalaka, Montana following a short illness. Jessie Loraine Keith was born July 6, 1927 on the family farm near Hardin, Montana to George and Clara (Hayes) Graham. She grew up and attended local county schools near Hardin, before the family moved to Cooke City where she completed grade and high school. After graduating, she worked as a telephone operator in Washington and California and eventually returned to Billings and continued working in the profession. At that time, she married Cap Keith in Billings on July 3, 1959, and the couple made their home on the family ranch south of Ekalaka, where they raised their three children. Jessie loved to travel and put in hundreds of miles hauling the kids and horses to local rodeos. She also liked to ski, and she would even ski to and from school when they lived in Cooke City. Jessie was an avid hunter and taught hunter?s safety for many years. She also enjoyed sports, especially when she was watching her kids? and grandkids? events. Survivors include her husband, Cap of Ekalaka, Montana; two sons: Jim (Hyonny) Keith, Miles City, Montana, Jerry (Michelle) Keith, Ekalaka, Montana; one brother: Dean Graham, Billings, Montana; seven grandchildren: Vicki (Jim) Wilkinson, Kala Keith, Charlie Keith, Katherine Keith, Micki Lamphere, Randi Keith, Lacey Keith; two great-grandchildren: Kent and Kyle Wilkinson, numerous nieces and nephews; two children from a previous marriage: Patty and Raymond. She is preceded by her parents; a daughter, Joyce; three brothers: Bob, George, and Harry; three sisters: Evelyn, Gladys, and Matti. Memorials may be given to the Carter County EMTs or the Carter County Shooting Sports.
