She went on to attend Nesbitt Memorial Hospital Nursing School and graduated in 1961 as a Registered Nurse.

Jessie married Asher Malcolm Meyer on January 26, 1963, in Scranton, PA. The couple was blessed with five children. Jessie and her husband enjoyed their many travels around the world, exploring Alaska, Australia, and New Zealand.  They enjoyed vacationing in Myrtle Beach, Florida and frequently traveled to their favorite destination, Hawaii.

Jessie moved to Dickinson in December 2012 where she lived with her daughter until her passing.

Jessie enjoyed cooking, reading, and gardening.  She loved butterflies, birds and her precious puppies. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing games, such as mahjong and Rummikub.
