Jill passed away Monday, September 2, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Jill Streitmatter was born January 15, 1966 in Mandan, ND to Arthur “Butch” and Mildred “Mitzi” (Weiand) Streitmatter. She grew up in Glen Ullin and graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1984. After graduating, Jill moved to Dickinson to attend the nursing program at Dickinson State.
On August 10, 1987, Jill made the selfless decision to give the gift of her newborn baby, Shawna, to a loving couple.
Jill moved to Great Falls, Montana, with her best friend, Donna Schantz. She worked various jobs before moving to Bonner, MT. It was there that she met the love of her life, Darin Rogers. The couple was married in June 26th, 1993. Together, they were blessed with their children, Mariah and Lee.
Jill worked in the healthcare industry until her health began to fail her. She faced many challenges in her life due to various illnesses, but even with her seven-year battle with cancer, she fought courageously. She shared her story and inspired so many people around her.
Jill was a devoted mother who always put her kids first. Her love was strong for everyone who knew her, and she always tried to ease the burdens, even in her suffering.
In August 2023, Jill received the phone call she had always been waiting for. Her daughter Shawna contacted her, and the two have spent the last year reconnecting.
Jill loved the color purple and the Minnesota Vikings. She was known as a child from the 80s because of her love for that era of music. She always looked forward to Harley rides with Darin through the mountains and sitting around a bonfire with her family. They also spent the winters snowmobiling and the summers riding their 4 wheelers through the mountains.
Jill was a proud member of AA. She was so proud of her accomplishments in recovering and becoming an even stronger version of herself.
Jill will be remembered for her loving spirit, her contagious laugh, and her ability to always push through obstacles. She will be extremely missed by all who know her.
Jill is survived by her loving husband, Darin of Bonner, MT; children, Shawna (Dustin) Clausen of Wilton, ND, Mariah (Shane) Stoughton and Lee Rogers both of Bonner, MT; siblings, Kent Streitmatter of Billings, MT and LeeAnn Streitmatter of Glen Ullin, ND; nephew, Ricco Streitmatter of Billings, MT; grandsons, Dakota and Sutton Clausen; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Bonnie Rogers of Ovando, MT; brothers-in-law, Forest, Brent, Ice and numerous aunts and uncles.
