A graveside service for Joann (Klein) Fortier, 81, of Billings, MT will be held at 2:00 p. m. , Friday, August 5, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Joann, our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and foster mother passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 15, 2016. Joann Eva Klein was born January 2, 1935 in Dickinson, the daughter of John and Lilian Klein and one of fourteen siblings. Joann had a passion for life and loved her children with all of her heart. She could sit and visit for hours over a cup of coffee (with ice) with anyone that listened as she bragged about the successes of her six children. Joann loved to dance, play bingo, and was a huge Elvis Presley fan. You could always find her wearing a patriotic pin or something red, white, and blue. Jeopardy was her favorite TV show and she didn’t miss an episode (do not call her at that time!). Joann is survived by her children Renee (Fred) Rattin (Dickinson, ND); Rod (Gloria) Fortier (Missoula, MT); Tyler (Debbie) Fortier (Helena, MT); Iona (Mike) Stookey (Huntley, MT); Jolyn (Les) Meyer (Fairfield, MT); Cindy (Tim) Barta (Billings, MT). She had 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and was the foster mother to over one hundred children. Joann is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Terry, Bob, and Ted. A Memorial Service was held July 18, 2016 at Cremation and Funeral Gallery in Billings, MT. We love you and know that you are in a better place. Until we meet again…. Please send memorials to Iona Stookey: 161 2nd St. N. Huntley, MT, 59037.
