Funeral Mass for Joelyn Marie Splichal, 55, of Dickinson, will be at 1:00 p. m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph?s Cemetery. Visitation for Joelyn will be from 1:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. , Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Prayer Service being held at 6:00 p. m. Joelyn passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. Joelyn Marie Splichal was born on January 9, 1956 in Dickinson, the daughter of Joseph and Christine (Ficek) Splichal. She grew up in Dickinson and attended school at St. Joseph?s Catholic School. Throughout her younger years, she worked as a waitress and cook. Joelyn later earned her CNA certification and began her career as a caregiver. During this time, she worked at various nursing homes and health care facilities throughout the area. Joelyn had a real passion for helping people through Home Health. She was able to show her caring personality to each of her patients, touching many lives. Joelyn enjoyed cooking and found great pleasure in helping others. Her greatest joy was in raising her son, Jeremy. She was a strong advocate and proud member of the 12 Step Support Group, making many friends through her time there. Joelyn is survived by her son, Jeremy of Dickinson; brothers, Ray (Berry) Splichal of AZ, Arnie (Karen) Splichal of Lubbok, TX, Ken (Katie) Splichal of Dickinson; and sister Jeannie (Jim) Watts of San Bernadino, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe & Christine and her sister-in-law Kay Splichal.
